The 1962 (12th Annual) NFL Pro Bowl Game at the Memorial Coliseum was the best game of the series, certainly to that time, as Johnny Unitas and the West pull out a last-second 31-30 victory over coach Allie Sherman’s East squad. Narrated by Chris Schenkel, the film features several nice closeups of players before the game, including Y.A. Tittle, Tommy McDonald, Jim Brown, Andy Robustelli and Milt Plum of the East and Bart Starr, Lenny Moore, Joe Schmidt, John Unitas and coach Norm Van Brocklin of the West. The game is a back and forth struggle, with outstanding effort from both teams. When Jim Brown breaks loose on a long run late in the game to put the East on top 30-24, he is voted Outstanding Player Of The Game. But as the East is trying to run out the clock, Brown has the ball ripped loose by Bill George of the Bears and the West gets a final chance! With no time outs left, John Unitas leads the West on a frantic drive to the ten yard line, and on the final play, tosses a strike to Jon Arnett of the Rams in the corner of the end zone for the tying TD! Jim Martin kicks the game-clinching PAT, and the West wins a thriller, 31-30!

Here’s a list of more players you’ll see in action, first for the East – Ted Dean, Dick Bielski, Jim Patton, Don Perkins, Maxie Baughan, Del Shofner, Mike McCormack, Bobby Walston, Erich Barnes, Bob Gain, Jerry Norton, Dick James, Sam Huff, Jimmy Hill, Buddy Dial, John Morrow, John Nisby and Alex Webster. For the West – Hugh McElhenny, Jim Phillips, Gino Marchetti, Night Train Lane, Alex Karras, Jim Taylor, Yale Lary, Henry Jordan, Raymond Berry, Jim Gibbons, Bill Forester, Mike Ditka, Nick Pietrosante, Les Richter, Doug Atkins, Jesse Whittenton and Forrest Gregg.
