1961 Detroit Lions Highlights

Shown next on this 58-minute DVD is the 1961 Detroit Lions Highlights, narrated by Van Patrick and presented by Falstaff Beer (remember the cartoon commercials with Elwood and The Old Pro)? The Lion defense, with tackles Alex Karras and Roger Brown, top middle linebacker Joe Schmidt and Yale Lary and Night Train Lane in the secondary, could match the NFL’s best with size, speed and experience in all sectors.
