Kareem Abdul-Jabbar's First NBA Game!

Another rare broadcast treasure has been released from our vault of vintage TV and film never before seen by the general public! Thanks to the restoration expertise of Rare Sportsfilms Inc, the NBA debut of Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (then known as Lew Alcindor) is now on high-quality DVD! This is the NBA's oldest existing complete game TV broadcast in color!

This original broadcast was part of ABC's "Wide World of Sports" Saturday afternoon October 18, 1969 broadcast from Milwaukee Arena, and is the opening game of the NBA season for the Bucks. The announcers are Jerry Gross and Jack Twyman and Twyman interviews young Alcindor at halftime. Lew finishes this game with 29 points, 12 rebounds, 6 assists, 3 steals and 3 blocked shots, including one on the last play of the game! 1 hour, 28 minutes COLOR.
