LOS ANGELES RAMS
Even though new head coach Bob Waterfield's Los Angeles Rams were out of the 1960 Western Conference race after losing their first four games of the season, three of their four victories were upsets, and by the end of the year, the Rams certainly had determined who did go on to the NFL Championship Game in Philadelphia. Their 33-31 win over the eventual Western Champion Packers at Milwaukee was an eye-opener, and so was the late season upset over the defending champion Colts which virtually knocked Baltimore out of the Championship
This rare film, narrated by Bob Kelly, covers three of the 1960 Ram victories as well as the tie with Chicago. The first three-quarters of this 33-minute B & W film highlights the four games* (see below), while the last eight minutes focuses on six of the Rams outstanding players of 1960: rookie DB Charlie Britt, DT John Lovetere, DB Ed Meador, HB Jon Arnett, LB Les Richter and end Jim "Red" Phillips. Shown throughout the film are many other Ram players from the 1960 season: Quarterbacks Frank Ryan and Billy Wade, Halfbacks Dick Bass, Tommy Wilson and Clendon Thomas, fullbacks Joe Marconi and Ollie Matson, ends Del Shofner and rookie Carroll Dale and kicker Danny Villanueva. Other players shown are: Charlie Bradshaw, Roy Hord, Art Hunter, Gene Brito, Lamar Lundy, Bill Jobko, Bob Long, Jack Pardee, and Will Sherman. Watch these and other Rams battling the stars on other NFL teams such as J.C. Caroline, Zeke Bratkowski, Hopalong Cassady, Bart Starr, Paul Hornung, Johnny Unitas, Ray Berry and Lenny Moore!
