1962
GREEN BAY PACKERS

Many pro football historians feel that the 1962 Green Bay Packers were the greatest of all the 1960’s Lombardi teams! On the way to their second straight World Championship they went 13-1 and by year’s end, Packers dominated the All-Pro team selections, with Ron Kramer, Forrest Gregg, Jerry Kramer, Fuzzy Thurston, Jim Ringo, Willie Davis, Henry Jordan, Bill Forester, Dan Currie and Herb Adderley all winning honors. Jim Taylor took the rushing title away from Jim Brown, scoring 19 touchdowns, and won the MVP award! Quarterback Bart Starr had the best passing record in the league and Willie Wood had the most interceptions

This rare film is narrated by Jim Leaming and covers the highlights of the 1962 Packer season, including the NFL Championship Game at Yankee Stadium against the Giants. The original 29-minute B & W film has now been restored to like-new condition and brings back great memories and the feel of Packer football at old City Stadium (now known as Lambeau Field). Great shots throughout the film also show action from Franklin Field, Philadelphia as well as Wrigley Field, Chicago!

Before many of the games, you’ll see nice close-up camera shots of many Packer players, such as Bart Starr, Jerry Kramer, Max McGee, Jim Taylor, Willie Davis, Boyd Dowler, Hank Gremminger, Paul Hornung, Herb Adderley and, of course, coach Vince Lombardi! Also shown throughout the season are Ray Nitschke, Elijah Pitts, Tom Moore, Lew Carpenter, Bill Quinlan, Dave Hanner, Jesse Whittenton, Ken Iman, Nelson Toburen, backup quarterback John Roach and rookie running back Earl Gros! NFL stars on other teams shown battling the Packers during the year include Billy Wade, Rudy Bukich and Johnny Morris of the Bears, Milt Plum, Gail Cogdill, Dick LeBeau and Yale Lary of the Lions, John Unitas, Jimmy Orr, Tom Matte and Lennie Moore of the Baltimore Colts and Y.A. Tittle, Sam Huff, Del Shofner, Don Chandler and Erich Barnes of the Eastern Champion Giants!
